Training Hours: 45 Hours (including interactive sessions, recorded lectures, and practical applications)

This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the public health system and field-based disease tracking and surveillance methods.

Topics Include:

  • Basic concepts of public health and its historical development compared to curative medicine.

  • The three levels of prevention (primary, secondary, tertiary) and their field applications.

  • The epidemiological triad (host, agent, environment), transmission patterns, and incubation and infectious periods.

  • Health and mortality measurements: Incidence and Prevalence rates.

  • Field epidemiological surveillance systems and early outbreak and epidemic response.

  • Social and economic determinants of health and strategies for universal health coverage.

Course 1.2: Health Education & Behavioral Change

Objectives: To equip students with health communication tools and skills for managing behavioral change campaigns and community engagement.

  • Principles and skills of effective health communication and field education.

  • Behavioral theories and models (Health Belief Model, Social Cognitive Theory, Transtheoretical Model/Stages of Change).

Course 1.3: Community Health, Disease Control & Environmental Health
